Local Fire Officers Represent Williston Nationally
Williston Fire Department Captain Matt Clark has been accepted into the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. Captain Clark, who is on deployment with the United States Air Force in the Middle-East, will begin the executive level training program in March 2018, in Emmittsburg, Maryland.
The EFO Program has a very select and in-depth process to being selected; one of the requirements is that fire officers must have attained a Bachelor’s Degree and usually the rank of Chief Officer. With Captain Clark’s experience and educational background including recently graduating from a Master's Degree program in Public Administration the EFOP will enhance his capabilities and skill set for the Williston Fire Department.
Battalion Chief Mike Fronimos recently completed his term as President of the National Information Officers Association, concluding at the annual training conference in Clearwater, Florida last month. The NIOA is an organization of over 800 law enforcement, fire, EMS, emergency management, healthcare, air medical and other public and private sector public affairs professionals. Mike has also been selected to instruct at FDIC International this year. FDIC is an annual training event for the fire service in Indianapolis, IN that in 2017 had over 33,000 attendees
Fronimos, a recent transplant to Williston is one of only a handful of professionals who have served twice as the President of the NIOA, and has nearly thirty years’ experience both in emergency services and as a PIO.
